Background
Zita Joyce received her PhD from the University of Auckland in 2007. Her thesis 'Creating order in the ceaseless flow: the discursive constitution of the radio spectrum' examined the definition, allocation, and use of radio spectrum. Her interest in broadcasting and radio technologies stems from years of volunteer DJing at rdu, the University of Canterbury-based radio station, where she was also programme director from 1997 to 2000. Zita joined the programme in May 2008.
